Well, it's a new challenge path, so here's how I'm faring. It's a little TLDR, but we've all figured out I'm long-winded by now.
Total 11 days and 1312 turns. Average turngen over base rollover - 79.25.
Basic strategy was initiative + 1 round spell kill.

Ascending as HC AOJ
Taking astral drinks, astral statuette and Vole sign.
Have a Magazine subscription. No other pulls.
Started before any real spading had taken place, so this run I mostly chose my skill options as guesses and from skill descriptions. Net effect was easy combat, slowish turn-gen (until never-late and sublime stew), and negligible turn-cutting (until staff of steak).

Day 1 - 64
L1: Bake > Potato > Hippo
Hippo - engage!
sold pork-elf goodies, bought radio, turned it up,
Started in pantry to go for gourd/pretentious artist/L2
L2: Veggies
Made a chefstaff from veggies (tired of losing initiative with MCD)
blew some cash in between battles recovering while delving spooky forest, turned down MCD to compensate, bake is not adequate
completed council quest, then went into the game dungeon for a couple fights till L3
L3: Boil (much better combat now)
Finished tavern quest and Ratsworth (monocle)
Started exploring the kitchen more, figuring out drinks and foods
had some vodka and soup
... which took me to L4
L4: Eggs
Ate a couple hard-boiled eggs, sold rat whiskers, used Bad Stuff scroll to open up the boss bat (clover adventure + screambat)
General store buffs, took out bodyguards and boss bat in 1 round a piece, set MCD for britches (my pants are terrible up to now)
Back to video game to push for L5
Figure out that Egg staff is awesome and make one for HP regen (goodbye doc)
Also figure out that jiggles in Jarls are 1-round stuns. Also cool.
Also figure out autoattack in mafia results in failure. (this is fixed tomorrow)
L5: Dough (took this because everything seems to require bread on the recipe list). Already pretty full, so Staff of Life (not enough Myst, but I can' t use all today's ingredients), and some stout to nightcap.
Sooo... L5 by skin of my teeth on D1. Lots of mistakes.

Day 2 - 158
Potato - companion and into the Knob
Limerick for semi-rare - got it on 2nd adv.
Opened Knob, timed out looking for harem girl outfit, beat up King (easy)
Opened up menagerie... for no discernible reason.
Went hunting for yesterday's triffid bounty.
Gave up and went to Video Game dungeon to level to 6, picked up sellables, fancy blue potions and icy fate shield and a token.
Drank astral drink, finished food summons.
Opened new video game dungeon - this one has Helm; I want the Helm - but don't get there
L6: Meat > still no good recipes... sad
Start work on Friars.
Eat meatloaf.
Make staff of steak for later.
2/3 of Friars done.
Finish with decent booze.

Day 3 - 259
Hippo
Finish Friars.
Work on Video Dungeon - Get Helm and equip.
Grab dungeon kit and move on to open manor.
Get Sinful Desires in Library (bleh, should have gone for Stinky to support curdle)
Drank 2nd Astral
Opened Upstairs and made a Unspeakable scroll. Hit L7
L7: Never Late for Dinner
Rocked the Cyrpt for a while.
Drank decent booze.
Ran some turns and clovers in Bathroom, ate decent food summons to full.
Got a towel!
Leveled enough to equip staff of Life and Steak. It's on now.
First steak use is on a suckubus. No bus pass. Lame, back to bathroom. L8 on last adv.
L8: Fry
Realize that perfect breakfast requires more than fried eggs and bacon (stupid toast)
Made a meatcar.
Nightcap (sauerlager).

Day 4 - 386
Hippo
Open Mine.
All-steaked the dairy goats - quite successful. (forgot to get burrito blessing, though)
Finish triffid bounty.
Start Azazel. Fry the comic bosses, curdle the rest.
All-steaked for bus pass/imp air, ran out of charges (moderate sleaze damage after that).
Steel Margarita.
Grabbed a SP breath spray for extra stats in Video game dungeon.
Drink some Saeurlager.
Bathroom some more till L9.
L9: Grill
Hooray! Stew! Finally decent food, and it's awesome. Also now get toast for perfect breakfast.
Leaflet
Stew + steak (default meal from here on out).
First Vacation
Start clearing crypt again (should have been doing this instead of bathroom)
Initiative is so high, almost all modern zmobies.
Nightcap (vodka)

Day 5 - 511
Hippo
Finish Cyrpt. Bonerdagon goes down like a chump from 1 cast of Grill.
Meatmaid.
Finish 4 vacations, because I want a Bonerdagon necklace and need the dictionary.
Randomly hit pirate SR. So hey, that could be helpful in the war. (Nope: I used this on final boss instead. It was funny)
Dictionary. Trudge through smut orcs. Eat sublime stew before finishing.
Tried all-steak at A-boo, no drops. Blech, I have other concerns.
Buff moxie and finish Video game dungeon. Acquire Cloak.
Bathroom till L10.
L10: Fruit
Start making good booze. Lots of extra eggs, so over-easy riders it is.
Finish mining.
All-steaked the slope to pick up eXtreme gear. Finished McLarge. Groar was a pushover with puddingskin, bad stuff and eXtreme gear. Took 1 Grill and 1 Boil.
Nightcap (Stout).

Day 6 - 621
Hippo
Start collecting pirate insults
Not enough insults before beer pong, so burned a few adventures in the new airship.
Fried high HP baddies, Boil for HP <=100.
Beer Pong.
Easy F'c'le with All-steak.
Back to airship (still can't find last +5 ML for Oil Peak, but got some red-eyes for a-boo).
Airship takes FOREVER. Need -combat in latter runs.
Start exploring new Castle. Very cool. Fry or 2xboil takes out most low level giants, but I seem to need Grill on Fitness giant.
Open Ground floor with NCs. New +stat potions are fantastic.
Finish day fighting on ground floor of castle.
Nightcap (over-easy rider)

Day 7 - 768
Hippo
Quest maintenance today:
Finished castle (forgot to open up sky).
Finished highlands (cold gear + 2 red eyes + bad stuff really speeds up a boo. Troll britches got me just enough ML for oil peak.)
L11: Most-Important-Meal
Palindrome through grabbing Mega-Gem
Opened Hidden Temple
Started opening Spookyraven basement
Picked up most items for pagoda incidentally. Might finish it if I see a drab bard tomorrow.
Nightcap (over-easy rider)
Running around with troll britches, MCD at +10, Scream Helm and Hippo is not bad for low skill stats; witty rapier and victor even for low ML areas opening the temple.

Day 8 - 912
Hippo
Opened spooky basement, couldn't get last wine to drop, even with friars blessing, try again tomorrow
Hidden temple and hidden city to setup spectre
Ran a Video Game dungeon - Gauntlets! Hooray HP!
Opened Dungeon of Doom and opened a blessed box
Opened HitS, collected all my star items
Went to Bathroom to setup GMoB, but kept thumbwrestling instead. Hit L12 on last adventure!
L12: Freeze
Nightcap (over-easy rider)

Day 9 - 1058
Started war, blew up wand trying to save some turns on outfit
Decided flyering Lvl11 bosses would be painful without blend, so setup GMoB instead (not bad turncount there, 29)
Ran Gremlins with high HP/DR equipment. Nasty but not too nasty.
Killed lvl11 bosses and opened pyramid
Wasted some adv trying to run SonofaBeach with reoderant before I realized I still had the ballroom song set. Complete confusion, lost 34 turns and no lobsterfrogmen. This alone may have cost me an extra day on the run; not finishing tomorrow after all.
Killed a few hippies and called it a night.

Day 10 - 1201
Hippo
Backfarmed KGE uniform (4 turns, nice!) for dispensary buffs
War! (Frat side)
Orchard used all my allsteak charges, but it finished quick (6 turns).
Did the Nuns, but had to backfarm some candles first (new noncom helped, but 10 turns for that; 37 with the bandits)
Finished war, two heroes! (orange-peel hat and dogtags)
Got Cream a couple adv after war, ran out of adv before sniffing tomb rats for ratchets. Should finish quickly tomorrow, depending on tower items.
nightcap - disappointed russian -note this works as well as over easys, it's just poorer quality, if you get both, it's an extra 5 turns a day

Day 11 - 1312
Hippo
Started creamfacting tomb rats, stopped around seven ratchets and finished the rest with wheel NC.
Goodbye ed, hello tower.
Tower:
Farmed for bloopers, but it took an eon to get the first one and olfact it [28 adv total].
Needed a ! potion of detection (already identified), so used all-steak on a Q, and blessed a large box.
Also needed pickle-gum - clover.
Missing a drum, so back to black forest for that.
Hedge maze went pretty fast, only 2 steals.
Backfarmed for missing spider web and leftovers. Only lost 4 advs.
The rest went smoothly. Over-buffed for the final boss, but that's ok.

Run 2 planning: the extra 2 skills makes a day 1 double-stew possible. Here's the plan:
Open with 5 skills: bake, potato, veggie, boil, meat
vodka/saeurlager + 3*lagers should get to L3
L3 -> grill, MIM
Results: adv 0 sublime stew with MIM.

Next -> push to L6 and get Lunch Like a King -> eat a second sublime stew. Bask in its glory.
L7 -> Neverlate
L11 -> Egg, Dough <-order?-> Cheese, Fry; Yup, that's double ultimate breakfast sandwiches
L13 -> Not sure here; Eggman + working lunch (too late to be useful?); fruit + freeze or best-served-cold? Early riser for better booze?

Note: I was able to get double sublime stew on the first day of run 2, but I did have to use an astral drink for adventures at L5 and some clovers in the bathroom. With the extra adv. I was able to set the ballroom song and finish most of friars.

So, here's the postmortem on run 2. Basically more of the same with much better turngen.

Total 8 days and 1187 turns to boss. Average turn-gen over base rollover - 126.29 (big improvement)
Didn't need to eat or drink the last day, so I missed 7 days by 23 adv.
Astral drinks, Vole sign, astral statuette + Magazine subscription.

General notes: enormous turn-gen compared to the first run. Combat was still pretty easy – get initiative and use the smallest spell that will 1-hit the target. +combat shaved a lot of turns off of the war. An earlier eggman and adding chocolate sphere would definitely have helped with turn-shaving.

Day 1 - 134
L1: Boil, Veggie, Bake, Potato, Meat
Made potato staff, drank Sauerlager to level
L2: MIM
Drank 3 mediocre lagers to level
L3: Grill
Paid Galaktik for MP, summoned meat
Made 1st stew - another level
L4:
Early quests through Boss Bat. Started opening Spookyraven.
L5:
Knob through king, got both sets of outfits (SR on elite guard). Back to Spookyraven.
Still not lvl 6, running out of adv, drank an AED.
Video game/Bathroom till level 6.
L6: chop, slice, lunch like a king (whew).
Ate another stew. Yay, double D1 stew!
Set Ballroom song to +NC.
Start Friars

Day 2 - 259
Double-stew for breakfast
Finish Friars. Run some of video game. Get bored and blow a clover to hit L7.
L7: Never Late
Start Cyrpt. Half of Azazel quest, and finish video game. Back to finish Cyrpt.
L8 - Cheese
Crazy, first adv at the mine is the foreman SR. Picked up entire outfit in 1 turn.
Banish sabre-goats; 2/3 cheeses. Meatmaid.

Day 3 - 399
Double-stew
First shore trip. Finish McLarge. Second shore trip. Video game - get Gauntlets.
Bathroom. 3rd Shore trip. Bedroom looking for mirror. Bathroom again to level.
L9: Eggs
Forest for triffid bounty.
4th vacation. Forest almost to hidden temple. More Azazel.

Day 4 - 578
Double-stew
Video game for 23 adv. 5th vacation. Pirates till dictionary. Smut orcs takes 20 turns and 2 clovers. Grab a couple a-boo clues, a polysniff, run some of Twin peak. Back to finish video game (greaves). Start Barrney's barrr. Powerlevel in Bathroom and start setting up GMOB.
L10: Dough
Vodka dogs and AED. Start airship. Remember to finish Azazel. Continue Airship.

Day 5 - 789
Got a JarlsPan. Because awesome. Drink last AED.
Continue Airship. Start Castle. Get ++HP SR (used later to finish a-boo). Still not quite to L11, so drink vodka dogs and back to powerlevel in bathroom. Get bored and go back to castle. Finish Raver Bounty. Back to bathroom to level.
L11: Fry
Make 2 Ultimate Breakfast Sandwiches (yum).
Start Macguffin quest. Open Palindrome and Spookyraven cellar. Finish L9 quest (oil peak w/ rave whistle; resist + HP SR for a-boo clues; hedge trimmers for twin peak). Finish Spookyraven. Open HITS. Open hidden temple (missing map). Banish at temple and grab a couple stone wools.

Day 6 - 952
Double Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich
Finish MacGuffin Quest (Oasis is great for cosmic calories, not quite enough +item to make ratchet farming worthwhile).
Still not lvl 12, so powerleveling.
L12: Coffeesphere (this was more useful than I expected)
No island disguises, had to run hippies until basic hippy disguise showed up. I really want a YR source now Smile.
Really fast Dungeons of Doom (5 turns, crazy).

Day 7 - 1163
Double Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich
All-steaked a Frat spy while running coffeesphere, SGEE'd the sphere and started war. Flyered GMOB, ran gremlins with careful banishing. Coffeesphere for frogmen. War. Orchard screwed up a little bit (last gland wouldn't drop and I ran out of steak charges). Skipped nuns and dooks. Finished War. Powerleveled to 13, picked up star equipment along the way.
L13: Eggman
Made an eggman and started collecting last star pieces and white pixels.
Just short!

Day 8 - 1187
4 turns in 8-bit realm to finish digital key
1 turn clover pack of JabaƱero chewing gum
drink down box of DD potions before I find the right one
8 turn hedge maze
Only missing powdered organs -> first turn tomb servant + jar + organs!
Rest of the tower was straightforward. Staff of staff of life for shadow. Buff and use big spells for the final battle(s).
Finished a couple bounties before breaking prism. (those are the extra turns in the ascension counter)

Goals for run 3: earlier epic food. Save first AED till later for more turns. Start using ML (astral belt, engage!). Going to try Opossum instead this run for the moonsign as well. Get eggman earlier (after double-stew, but before breakfast sandwich). I think the chocolatesphere/creampuff/dessert track will have to wait for next run (I think I'll need neverlate for the +init to deal with the extra ML).
